At VIFW, we highlight how fashion can build connections with Indigenous values, wisdom, and history, becoming a powerful tool for the cultivation of strength and resiliency in Indigenous communities, as well as a vehicle for understanding and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
VIFW is committed to facilitating reconciliation through collaboration and dialogue about fashion, identity, story, art, and representation. Our fashion is Wearable Culture, and it unites artists, cultural creatives, leaders, and the curious in celebrating the stories inherent in the creation of each piece. Through showcasing the expression and evolution of Indigenous designers from across Turtle Island, VIFW bridges the past, present, and future of Indigenous resurgence in the heart of the city.
Red Dress Event
Dress in Red on Opening Night to remember and celebrate our resilience and strength.
We come together wearing red, in honour of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, men, Two-Spirit, and LGBTQ+ members of our communities.
As we remember our murdered and missing family and community members, we honour their beauty, strength, and collective resilience. This night is a time to bear witness, to hold space for grief, and to celebrate the legacy and spirit of those we have lost.
Through fashion, movement, and ceremony, we express our deepest love and respect for those we have lost and recommit to the ongoing work of justice, remembrance, and protection.

All My Relations
VIFW Night 2 is a celebration of high fashion, kinship and cultural resurgence.
On our second evening, designers from across Turtle Island show up and show out. High fashion meets Indigenous couture, celebrating relationships, community, and cultural resurgence in the magnificent designs of both up-and-comers and fan favourites.
This night is a love letter to kinship, creativity, and connection. Every piece on the runway carries teachings, memory, and innovation.
From rich textiles and beadwork to cutting-edge silhouettes, All My Relations Couture Night reminds us that Indigenous fashion holds both tradition and transformation.

INDIGENOUS FUTURES
NIGHT 3 is where streetwear, sound, and vision collide on a future-facing runway.
Indigenous Futurism advocates for Indigenous sovereignty. At the intersection of artistic practice, contemporary storytelling, and pop culture, we shape a future that centres Indigenous ways of being and knowing.
This night is a celebration of Indigenous streetwear, sportswear, and fashion that speaks to where we’ve been and where we’re going.
The runway will pulse with energy, rhythm, and style. Hip hop, movement, and visual storytelling take the spotlight as our communities reclaim space and rewrite the narrative through fashion and music.

SPIRIT OF THE WEST COAST
Night 4 is a joyful finale inspired by the land, water, and people of the West Coast.
On our final night, we celebrate designs with a signature West Coast spirit. There is something special about this land and its people.
If we let it lead us, if we allow our joy to be seen and celebrated here, there’s nothing we can’t do. Be filled with the spirit of the West Coast.
This evening highlights the beauty of coastal tradition, formline, and textile mastery. It’s a joyful and emotional close to VIFW AIR 2025, reminding us of the power of community, culture, and celebration rooted in place.

Rebellious and untamable, fire blazes as a light that guides us forward, a primal force that warms our souls and fuels our spirits.
Salish Siriano from the Supreme Kiki House of Christian Siriano invites you to step into the heat at the Supernatural Ball, a night dedicated to FIRE's raw, untamed power. From the crackling energy of runway battles to the molten intensity of performance, we celebrate Ballroom’s unrelenting spirit, pushing boundaries, sparking transformation, and commanding the stage. This is a night where fire reigns supreme, and we honour its ability to bring life, destruction, rebellion, and renewal.
The third annual Supernatural Ball is a space to ignite your flame, rise in your power, and embrace the heat of your TRUE SELF. Ready to turn up the heat? This moment is yours.
